  • What is the difference between the SLP-1000 and SLP-1050?
The SLP-1000 and SLP-1050 are both advanced supercontinuum lasers developed by SuperLight Photonics, but they are designed for different levels of performance and application needs. Portability vs. Power: The SLP-1000 is the world's first portable wideband laser, optimized for portability with its lightweight design (less than 1 kg) and battery-operated functionality. It’s ideal for mobile and remote applications where portability is crucial. In contrast, the SLP-1050 is designed to deliver significantly more power, offering over 40 mW of output, which is more than 15 times the power of the SLP-1000. This makes the SLP-1050 suitable for more demanding industrial and research applications where higher power is essential. Spectral Range and Output: The SLP-1000 uses the patented PAD - Patterned Alternating Dispersion™ technology to generate a wide, smooth, and stable spectral output across a broad wavelength range, with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency. The SLP-1050 also utilizes PAD technology but features an amplified seed laser, providing an even broader spectral range, particularly in the NIR-SWIR region, and a much higher output power. This makes the SLP-1050 more versatile for applications requiring extended spectral coverage and higher light intensity. Applications: The SLP-1000 is best suited for applications where portability, energy efficiency, and ease of use are critical, such as fieldwork in biomedical imaging, forensics, spectroscopy, and remote sensing. The SLP-1050, with its higher power and extended spectral range, is ideal for more intensive applications in industrial inspection, advanced research, and medical procedures that require high precision and reliability. For more detailed specifications, you can request the datasheets for both products through the form available on our website.
